Classification: Executive – EX2 Divisional Manager/Salary Grade Band M
Qualified Level Salary Range:  $113,633.00 – $126,259.00 – $138,885.00

Position Objective:

The Anishinaabe Kinoomaagewin Enaagidoowendang collaborates to lead the organization’s work and initiatives, ensuring that organizational philosophies are reflected in all programs, services, and practices.   The position provides visionary leadership for academic programs grounded in Anishinaabe knowledge systems, language, culture, governance, and community priorities. The Anishinaabe Kinoomaagewin Enaagidoowendang plays a central role in academic planning, program development, accreditation, budgeting, and policy implementation. This senior academic leader fosters relationships and supports Indigenous faculty and students, ensuring that Kenjgewin Teg’s work reflects Anishinaabe values, sovereignty, and ways of knowing.

This position is expected to support the organizational philosophies and ensure they are reflected in all programs, services, and practices.

Qualifications:

Required

  • A minimum of a master’s degree in Indigenous Studies, Education, or equivalent education and years of experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Anishinaabe culture, language, governance, and community priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Indigenous communities in respectful, reciprocal ways.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of leadership experience in academic, community, or organizational settings.

Preferred

  • Fluency or proficiency in Anishinaabemowin.
  • Experience with land-based education.
  • A record of community-based work related to Anishinaabe knowledge systems.

Job Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of general office procedures and practices involving procurement, travel arrangements, budget management, and reports.
  • Strong time management skills, multi-tasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Ability to record meeting minutes.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to maintain filing systems and databases.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a challenging environment.
  • Maintain a high level of security, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Cultural knowledge of the Ojibwe Nation preferred; and Kendmoowin; Anishnabemwin miinwaa Anishnaabe bmaadziwin.
