APTN National News is launching a daytime newscast on Monday to expand its coverage of Indigenous issues across the country.
“As the first in the world national Indigenous broadcaster, it’s important for APTN News to continue to strive to provide as much news as we can to serve a wide diversity of Indigenous Peoples and to educate Canadians of the daily realities facing our communities,” said Cheryl McKenzie, executive director of news and current affairs at APTN.
“Our added daytime news broadcast will help keep First Nation, Inuit and Metis people more informed about each other and as well as the political decisions impacting their lives at the local level, provincial, and federal. Since day one, we’ve always said history would have been different if our APTN reporters were there.”
