Nov 6, 2024

What’s on the agenda for the House and Senate committees today.

For the second time in three days, Auditor General Karen Hogan will be joining PUBLIC ACCOUNTS members for an afternoon briefing session — this time, to go over the conclusions of her report on the development and rollout of the ArriveCAN screening app, which was released in March and found a “glaring disregard for basic management and contracting principles.” Also on the witness list: A trio of senior officials with Public Works and Government Services, including deputy minister Arianne Reza, assistant deputy minister Catherine Poulin and senior assistant deputy minister Dominic Laporte. (4:30 p.m.)

Over at STATUS OF WOMEN, MPs will hear more expert testimony on “gender-based violence and femicides” during a roundtable chat with representatives of support and advocacy groups, including the Elspeth Heyworth Centre for Women, Fédération des maisons d’hébergement pour femmes, La Maison des Guerrières, Liard Aboriginal Women’s Society and YWCA Lethbridge and District. (4:30 p.m.)
