At committee: Hajdu to face questions about fired scientists, lab security concerns – iPolitics

As previewed in What We’re Watching: After escalating their ongoing battle to force the Public Health Agency of Canada to provide un-redacted documents related to the dismissal of two scientists from the National Microbiology Laboratory to the floor of the House, which adopted a motion to order the production of the material earlier this month, members of the SPECIAL COMMITTEE ON CANADA-CHINA RELATIONS will have the opportunity to put their questions — and express their concerns — directly to Health Minister Patty Hajdu and PHAC president Iain Stewart, as well as acting lab vice-president Guillaume Poliquin, later today.  (6:30 – 8:30 PM)

Stewart is also on the witness list at HEALTH, where members have spent the last few months conducting a wide-ranging investigation into virtually every aspect of the “emergency situation” caused by the ongoing pandemic. Also set to testify this morning: Chief Public Health Officer Theresa Tam and a full contingent of senior governmental officials. (11 AM – 1 PM)
