The Cape York Indigenous Mayors Alliance says it is yet to have any contact with a committee overseeing a major overhaul in how federal Indigenous funding is spent.
Cape York leader Noel Pearson is the co-chairman of a steering committee for the Empowered Communities blueprint.
The plan is aimed at improving how funding is spent on the ground in Aboriginal communities in eight regions in Australia and has the Prime Minister’s backing.
However, Lockhart River Mayor Wayne Butcher says the committee has not engaged with Cape communities.
