OTTAWA — Bob Rae, Grand Chief Matthew Coon Come, Sheila Fraser, and Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Nunavut Paul Okalik are among the keynote speakers at the CBA’s National Aboriginal Law Conference taking place at the Frobisher Inn, Iqaluit, on June 19-20.
The theme of the conference is “Nation-Building Under Land Claims Agreements, Treaties and Self-Government Agreements”. The focus is on the practical, implications and challenges of implementing modern land claim agreements, treaties, and other similar agreements.
Topics to be explored include environmental and natural resources management, governance, revenue generation, and social issues.
