Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, you will be responsible for (1) overseeing the controllership function with the NTI Group of Companies, ensuring financial data is accurate and timely; (2) the treasury function, which includes cash management, investments and borrowing: and (3) financial strategy, planning and forecasting. You will also provide leadership with respect to the development of both the long and short term financial goals. You need to plan, organize, direct and control the management of all NTI Controlled Company’s finance, as well as develop and implement financial policies and procedures in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles for the appropriate type of Organization. (i.e. Not for Profit, Charity and Trust etc.)

Responsibilities include managing the Finance department and ensure that Finance policies and procedures are understood and followed throughout NTI; as well as manage NTI’s banking, financial, professional and other business relationships.

You must have a Chartered Professional Accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA) and in good standing. Your background should include a good understanding of Not-for-profit accounting standards (GAAP; an understanding of Charities and Trusts and their statutory requirements; and demonstrated ability to work as a member of a senior management team. Your experience should include executive strategic planning, budgeting, mentoring, payroll, and accounting process and systems improvements, and an ability to work in a cross-cultural setting. Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Inuktut/Inuinnaqtun is a definite asset.

Starting base salary is commensurate with experience and a comprehensive benefit package including an employee pension plan, group insurance and vacation travel assistance.

NTI provides a variety of housing supports to employees including down payment assistance and housing allowance of $27,600.
