Dawson Creek Dark Arc Welding Young Entrepreneur of the Year Indigenous – Dawson Creek Mirror

A Dawson Creek business is the recipient of a 2022 indigenous business award – Dark Arc Welding Inc. is the Young Entrepreneur of the Year from the BC Achievement Foundation.

Owners Dustin and Ashley Kucher sat down with Mirror for a chat about their business – and the new award.

“Dustin was welding with his truck as an owner-operator. In August of 2012, Dustin Incorporated the company, and I became involved by helping him organize his receipts and paperwork to take to the bookkeeper.”

Eventually the pair picked up a picker truck with one more employee. Ashley learned payroll, GST, filing of corporate taxes, and all the other administrative responsibilities as a business owner.

“In 2020, we made the move of our business and home from Moberly Lake to Dawson Creek. After moving to Dawson Creek we seen positive growth in the company,” says Dustin.
