The Director of Inuit Employment is responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance under Article 23 of the Nunavut Agreement. The main objective of the Department is to achieve a representative Inuit public service within Government(s) in Nunavut.
The Director of Inuit Employment coordinates and takes the lead on the implementation of Article 23, ensuring governments achieve a representative public service in Nunavut across all groups and levels. The Director of Inuit employment works closely with NTI departments and governments on Inuit Employment matters.
The Director of Inuit Employment is responsible for research, data analysis, consultation, and preparation of policy recommendations related to achieving the objective of Article 23 by the Government of Nunavut (GN) and the Government of Canada (GC).
To be selected for an interview, the candidate should have a University degree in human resources management, organization development, program, or equivalent. A minimum of two years experience in human resources management or program and/or training initiatives experience, including two years experience in both the management of staff and in financial and budget management. Experience in the delivery of and the development of training programs for Inuit is also a requirement. You will have good organizational and planning skills, effective oral and written communication skills, and good interpersonal skills. The ability to speak Inuktut or the willingness to further develop Inuktut skills is a requirement. You should have the ability to make effective presentations with a variety of audiences and the ability to work cooperatively with a variety of individuals and groups, governments, and training organizations.
Preference will be given to Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement.
Starting salary is $136,433.00 per annum (commensurate with experience) a comprehensive benefits package including an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance.
Housing allowance of $27,600.
