Repairing the Crown-Indigenous relationship will not be done overnight, and it will not be done unilaterally.
Since the start of the 42nd Canadian Parliament, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that there is no relationship more important to Canada than the relationship with Indigenous Peoples—that we will all work together with Indigenous Peoples to build a nation-to-nation, Inuit-Crown, government-to-government relationship based on respect, partnership, and recognition of rights.
