Press Release
July 28, 2025
The Government of Nunavut’s Petroleum Products Division (PPD) is pleased to advise Nunavummiut that a new fuel distribution and sales management system is being launched across the territory, beginning July 25. The system is called PetroplusTM.
The new technology will enhance the collection and utilization of information throughout the fuel sales and distribution processes. It will improve account management, fuel delivery scheduling, invoicing and fuel volume management. These improvements will enable PPD to send invoices to customers in a timely manner, thereby addressing a known customer concern. Costs for the new system will not result in fuel price increases, in fact, the system will provide greater efficiencies for PPD.
The rollout of the system is not expected to cause disruption to current services. It will begin in Rankin Inlet and after the initial setup, staff training, and monitoring to address any issues, the rollout will be expanded by community.
Customers will continue to receive invoices by email or by Canada Post, according to their account setup. Invoices will be sent after each delivery and will contain details including the delivery date, volume, fuel type, fuel rate, etc.
This new system aims to increase operational efficiencies and enhance customer satisfaction.
