On March 5, Algonquin College hosted a career expo for Indigenous peoples to get the chance to speak with successful, aboriginal entrepreneurs and their struggles with starting their own business; the ups, the downs, the good times and the bad times.
From City of Ottawa workers to people working with the government of Nunavut, there were opportunities for aboriginal students to meet possible employers at every turn. Every booth had something to say, something to prove and something to offer.
This was definitely a great opportunity for aboriginal students to make connections with employers specifically looking to hire aboriginal people. I learned so much about the business world in the span of three hours than I ever thought I would!
