Despite an on-camera confrontation with Indigenous anti-pipeline activists that briefly disrupted his efforts to rally local Liberals at a fundraising lunch in Vancouver yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau still intend to hit the stage at the annual summit of the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations in Meadow Lake.
According to his official itinerary, Trudeau will take questions from the crowd this afternoon, with Crown-Indigenous Relations Minister Carolyn Bennett, Indigenous Services Minister Seamus O’Regan and Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale also expected to be in attendance.
