For the second day in a row, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is set to go before the cameras — or, at least, his webcam — as he teams up with Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson, Infrastructure Minister Catherine McKenna, Environment Minister Jonathan Wilkinson and Canada Infrastructure Bank chair Tamara Vrooman for a “virtual announcement,” which, as per the notice, will include a post-reveal media availability via phone. (9 AM)
Also on Trudeau’s to-do list for today: A “virtual roundtable” with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Big City Mayors’ Caucus and a closed-door huddle with his cabinet.
For her part, Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will host virtual pre-budget consultations with representatives from Operation Black Vote Canada’s 1834 Fellowship program, as well as a panel of “private sector economists,” both of which are closed to the press.
