Lheidli T’enneh First Nation, regional district and City of Prince George sign updated MOU – Prince George Daily News

June 23, 2024

On June 21, National Indigenous Peoples Day, the City of Prince George, the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George (RDFFG), and the Lheidli T’enneh First Nation (LTFN) came together to sign an updated Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

The signing took place at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park as part of the 2024 National Indigenous Peoples Day (NIPD) celebrations.

The original MOU between the three organizations was signed in 2017. Updates to the 2017 agreement were proposed during the 2023 Government to Government (G2G) forum, where elected officials from all three organizations reviewed and suggested edits. One key addition is the agreement for the parties to meet formally as staffs, councils, and governments no less than once per year.

The changes to the MOU ensure it reflects current priorities and that its terms and conditions remain relevant to all three parties.
