Press Release
Kuujjuaq, Nunavik – June 13, 2025 – Makivvik is pleased to share that Air Inuit will now take over the Montreal–Kuujjuaq route earlier than previously anticipated, beginning on August 6th, 2025.
Canadian North will operate its final flight between Kuujjuaq and Montreal on August 5th, 2025. With the change in operator for the route moving ahead of schedule, Air Inuit will operate the route using its Boeing 737-300 aircraft for a transition period until it introduces its Boeing 737-800 Next Generation as planned originally in the autumn.
Makivvik and Air Inuit want to reassure all passengers with existing bookings for travel on or after August 6th that their reservations will be fully honoured and transferred to Air Inuit. Travelers will be able to fly the route with Air Inuit using their current booking details. A new Air Inuit passenger itinerary will be sent to all passengers that have an email on file.
For travel beginning August 6th, any new bookings made on or after June 17th must be made directly with Air Inuit at airinuit.com or via reservations at 1-800-361-2965.
Makivvik is proud to support the continued growth of Air Inuit and its expanding role in connecting Nunavik communities beyond Nunavik.
