The federal government is willing to put up half-a-billion dollars toward electric vehicle manufacturing at the Ford plant in Oakville, the Star reports. Heather Scoffield writes that Navdeep Bains has been “increasingly concerned that auto manufacturing in Ontario has dwindled and that the province needs to get into the EV market,” and that this would come from the Strategic Innovation Fund.
