— National security experts call for high-level re-think: A report by more than 250 national security experts is calling on Ottawa to revamp its national security approach and implement a higher-level approach to emerging threats such as climate change-related disasters and future pandemics. Experts behind the report, released by the Centre for International Governance Innovation, include former high-ranking government officials.

— Pandemic aid bill under review: Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland’s latest pandemic aid package will be under review today by a 12-member Commons committee that will meet to move the bill closer to a final vote. Liberals are hoping to pass it before the holiday break begins in two week’s time.
