All that’s required is a pause to reflect that young men and women, long gone, sacrificed themselves for this country
The relentless assault on what it means to be Canadian continued apace this Remembrance Day.
Let’s not forget we have a prime minister whose mantra is “Come to Canada and be whatever you want.” Meanwhile, in Calgary, our civic motto has been watered down so much that it appears all we can muster for common ground is the colour of the sky.
It is hard to escape the feeling that there are some in positions of power and authority in this country who actually don’t like Canada and, by extension, Canadians. They’d prefer we became just a loose collective of 41 million souls with our only commonality being mammals.
