The CMM’s Office of Executive Director oversees The CMM’s programs and works cooperatively with The CMM’s Board of Directors to make decisions on services for The CMM Member Communities.
TRURO, October 12, 2022 – The Confederacy of Mainland Mi’kmaq’s (The CMM) Office of the Executive Director has implemented an organizational change.
The CMM is proud to announce that Angie Gillis, B.A., LL.B, has been named Executive Director, and Dr. Donald M. Julien, C.D., C.M., O.N.S., DCL, DHumL, has been named Director Emeritus.
Angie Gillis, who has been The CMM’s Associate Executive Director since 2019, will begin to transfer into her new role, allowing for Dr. Julien, who has been The CMM’s Executive Director since 1995, to move into his new role as Director Emeritus.
Angie Gillis will continue to be responsible for providing oversight and guidance to all CMM’s Departments. In addition, Angie will become responsible for leadership, overall management, and operations of The CMM. Dr. Julien will play an integral role in Angie Gillis’ transition by becoming a significant resource and using his knowledge and experience gained throughout 35 years at The CMM. As Director Emeritus, Dr. Julien will continue as an honorary member of the organization and will provide valuable advice for programs and staff.
The CMM would like to congratulate both Angie Gillis and Dr. Donald M. Julien on their new positions and continued support and commitment to our organization.
