Pêmiska Tourism won the Indigenous Destination Development Award for its excellence in sustainable, culturally rich tourism.

BEARDY’S AND OKEMASIS’ CREE NATION, Treaty 6 – Pêmiska Tourism has been recognized with the prestigious Indigenous Destination Development Award at the International Indigenous Tourism Conference Awards Gala in Montreal.

The annual gala celebrates outstanding Indigenous tourism operators across the country, recognizing excellence in creating sustainable, innovative, and culturally rich tourism destinations that showcase Indigenous heritage and offer unique experiences to visitors.

“This recognition is not just for Pêmiska Tourism; it’s for every Indigenous community working to preserve their heritage and culture, and share their stories with the world,” said Collin Alexander, marketing officer for Pêmiska Tourism. “Our story is part of a larger movement, one that proudly affirms Saskatchewan as an Indigenous tourism destination.”
