What’s happening on and off the campaign trail today, plus the news you need to start your day.
After making a quick stop at a North York plastics factory on Sunday afternoon — where, as Canadian Press notes, he “brushed off reports of campaign turmoil (as) he pitched his party as the best choice to stand up to U.S. President Donald Trump” — Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is set to kick off his second week on the campaign trail with his first visit to Canada’s East Coast since the election got underway.
According to his official itinerary, he’ll start the day with an on-camera appearance in Saint John, N.B. (10 a.m. ADT) before hitting the road to Fredericton, where he’s booked to headline a “Canada First” rally this evening. (6 p.m. ADT)
