On Sunday, June 8, 2014, delegates at PSAC’s Ontario and Quebec regional conventions re-elected their Regional Executive Vice Presidents for a second term of three years.
Sharon DeSousa re-elected
PSAC Ontario members re-elected Sharon DeSousa as REVP for Ontario. Sharon was first elected in May of 2011 to represent PSAC 30,000 members in the province.
As part of the duties as REVP, Sharon sits on the Alliance Executive Committee and the National Board of Directors, which is the governing body of the PSAC, representing over 180,000 members across Canada.
As REVP for Ontario, Sharon’s portfolios include education; local and stewards development; the SV bargaining unit, as well as 38 regional bargaining units. She is also a member of the Board for the Workers’ Health and Safety Centre and of the Executive Board of the Ontario Federation of Labour
Magali Picard acclaimed
Delegates at the Quebec regional convention acclaimed Magali Picard for a second term as Quebec REVP.
Magali is responsible for various PSAC activities in Quebec. She chairs the PSAC Quebec Council and is the Vice-President of the Fédération des travailleurs et travailleuses du Québec (FTQ). She also sits on the Board of Directors of the FTQ Solidarity Fund.
Regionally, she is responsible for organization, education, political and social action, women’s and equity programs, area councils, directly chartered locals and separate employers.
