‘Saddle-span tent’ will be used for events and concerts
The Town of Ladysmith is receiving funding for a portable saddle-span tent which will be located at the Transfer Beach amphitheatre to further enhance the outdoor event space.
The tent, which will be funded through a $50,000 grant from the Island Coastal Economic Trust’s community placemaking program, can be configured as a shade cover, allowing for uninterrupted views of the Salish Sea, and as a backdrop for concerts.
“Enhancing the vitality and adaptability of our amphitheatre through this unique project is a great addition to our waterfront,” said Mayor Aaron Stone in a news release. “The project will require staff to be responsive, which is important in attracting new events and ensuring the long-term sustainability of our amazing waterfront areas.”
