Although there’s still no word on exactly when he will officially take on his new rule, newly elected Liberal leader and prime minister in waiting Mark Carney served notice that it would be “seamless” and “quick” during a brief back-and-forth with reporters yesterday afternoon, with most Hill watchers now expecting him to be sworn in by the end of the week, with an election call likely to follow within days.

Those comments followed what he described as a “long private meeting with Trudeau … that touched on the transition, national security and Canada-U.S. relations,” Canadian Press reports.
