Summer Employment for Nunavut Students (SENS) program returns

Press Release

June 24, 2025

The Summer Employment for Nunavut Students (SENS) program returns for another year. The program supports valuable on-the-job training and mentorship during the summer months, helping students prepare for future careers.

SENS assists employers seeking to hire Nunavut students aged 15 to 30 who will be returning to high school or a post-secondary institution in the fall. Eligible employers include private sector and not-for-profit organizations in Nunavut, as well as hamlets.

SENS provides 50% of the student’s hourly wage, up to $10 per hour for a maximum of 40 hours per week. For people with disabilities, SENS covers 65% of the student’s wages for a maximum of 40 hours per week.

Employers must apply for the SENS program on behalf of the Nunavut student(s). Employers can apply by completing the Summer Employment for Nunavut Students (SENS) application package.

For more information about SENS, visit the GN website or contact your regional Career Development Office.
