The City of Calgary recruiting volunteers for Boards, Commissions and Committees

The City of Calgary is looking for diverse volunteers to fill positions on 20 Boards, Commissions and Committees (BCCs). These volunteers will provide City Council with perspective and recommendations on important civic issues. Applications are being accepted until 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2024.
Although membership requirements may vary depending on the Board, Commission or Committee, eligible individuals for BBCs must be:
At least 18 years of age, and
Residents of Calgary, or
Indigenous persons who reside outside of Calgary but within the Treaty 7 region (including those Indigenous persons who belong to the Blackfoot Confederacy, made up of the Siksika, Piikani, Amskaapipiikani and Kainai First Nations; the Îethka Nakoda Wîcastabi First Nations, comprised of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Goodstoney First Nations; and the Tsuut’ina First Nation, and those persons who are Métis, including citizens of the Otipemisiwak Métis government residing in Foothills Métis District 1, Medicine Hat Métis District 2, Red Deer Métis District 3, Rocky View Métis District 4, Calgary Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elbow Métis District 6)
In addition, The City is looking for individuals who have:
A desire to give back to the community,
Expertise relevant to the qualifications that a specific BCC may be looking for,
A wish to elevate awareness of issues for under-represented groups, and
Availability to commit to BBC membership and active participation.
