Retail trade, June 2024
Retail sales decreased 0.3% to $65.7 billion in June. Sales were down in four of nine subsectors and were led by decreases at motor vehicle and parts dealers.
Quarterly financial statistics for enterprises, second quarter 2024
Canadian corporations reported an increase of $2.4 billion (+1.5%) in net income before taxes in the second quarter of 2024, reaching $163.2 billion. This gain was driven by the non-financial sector (+3.0%) and partly offset by the financial sector (-1.8%).

In June, the number of non-resident visitors to Canada represented 93.7% of the number observed in June 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic. US residents took 2.9 million trips to Canada in June 2024, and residents of overseas countries took 745,900 trips.

Operating revenue for the 24 largest Canadian air carriers totalled $8.3 billion in the first quarter of 2024, up 8.1% compared with the same quarter of 2023.

Monthly Survey of Manufacturing: Flash estimate, July 2024
Statistics Canada is providing an advance estimate of sales in the manufacturing sector for July. Advance results indicate that total manufacturing sales increased 1.1% in July. The largest increases were in the petroleum and coal product as well as chemical subsectors.
