Gross domestic product, income and expenditure, second quarter 2024
Real gross domestic product (GDP) increased 0.5% in the second quarter after rising 0.4% in the first quarter. On a per capita basis, GDP fell 0.1% in the second quarter, the fifth consecutive quarterly decline.
Gross domestic product by industry, June 2024
Real gross domestic product was essentially unchanged in June as increases in services-producing industries were offset by declines in goods-producing industries.
Farm cash receipts, January to June 2024
Farm cash receipts for Canadian farmers totalled $47.4 billion in the first two quarters, down $1.6 billion (-3.2%) from the same period in 2023. Crop receipts fell (-$3.3 billion) in the first two quarters of 2024, while livestock receipts (+$1.5 billion) and program payments (+$193.9 million) increased.
Poultry and egg statistics, August 2024
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for August 2024. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for July 2024, and data on egg production are available for June 2024.
