Canada’s international transactions in securities, December 2016
Foreign investment in Canadian securities reached $10.2 billion in December, largely through acquisitions of shares. At the same time, Canadian investors increased their holdings of foreign securities by $6.7 billion, led by purchases of non-US foreign shares.
Repair and maintenance services, 2015
The repair and maintenance services subsector earned $28.2 billion in operating revenue in 2015, up 1.9% from $27.7 billion in 2014. This activity generated an operating profit margin of 9.1% in 2015, up from 8.6% in 2014.
Software development and computer services, 2015
The software development and computer services industries earned operating revenue totalling $60.3 billion in 2015, up 8.2% from 2014.
Federal Patents, Licences and Royalties Survey, 2015/2016
Total income received from the commercialization of intellectual property activities by federal government departments and agencies decreased 1.5% from 2013/2014 to $31.8 million in 2015/2016.
