Consumer Price Index, April 2016
The Consumer Price Index rose 1.7% in the 12 months to April, after increasing 1.3% in March. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, the Consumer Price Index increased 0.2% in April, matching the gain in March.
Retail trade, March 2016
Following gains in January and February, retail sales decreased 1.0% in March to $43.8 billion. Sales were down in 6 of 11 subsectors, representing 74% of total retail trade.
Investment in new housing construction, March 2016
Investment in new residential construction totalled $3.8 billion in March, up 9.7% from the same month a year earlier.
Pipeline transportation of oil and other liquid petroleum products, March 2016
Opening inventories of crude oil and equivalent products held in pipelines and terminals were 12.2 million cubic metres (76.7 million barrels) in March.
Helmet use in recreational activities, 2013–2014
In 2013–2014, more than 11.9 million Canadians aged 12 or older reported riding a bicycle in the previous 12 months. Of these, 42.0% always wore a helmet.
