Wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, and other hydrocarbons and excluding oilseed and grain) grew 0.4% to $82.7 billion in July.

Life satisfaction among Canadians is on the decline. Less than half (48.6%) of Canadians aged 15 years and older were feeling highly satisfied with their lives in 2024, down from 54.0% three years earlier.
Industrial capacity utilization rates, second quarter 2024
Canadian industries operated at 79.1% of their production capacity in the second quarter, up slightly from 78.6% in the first quarter of 2024, which was revised up slightly by 0.1 percentage point.
Motor vehicle fuel sales, 2023
The demand for motor vehicle fuels continued to increase in 2023, with gross sales of gasoline in Canada rising 2.6% from 2022 to 43.6 billion litres. In 2023, fuel sales reached 97.3% of their 2019 level (44.8 billion litres), before the COVID-19 pandemic.
