Retail trade, July 2024
Retail sales increased 0.9% to $66.4 billion in July. Sales were up in seven of nine subsectors, led by increases at motor vehicle and parts dealers.
Industrial product and raw materials price indexes, August 2024
The Industrial Product Price Index decreased 0.8% month over month in August and rose 0.2% on a yearly basis. The Raw Materials Price Index declined 3.1% month over month in August and fell 2.5% year over year.
Railway carloadings, July 2024
In July, Canadian railways transported 29.9 million tonnes of freight, up 1.6% from July 2023, marking the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year increases.
