Canada’s international transactions in securities, May 2023
Foreign investment in Canadian securities totalled $11.2 billion in May, led by strong foreign purchases of federal government debt securities. Meanwhile, Canadian investors reduced their holdings of foreign securities by $2.8 billion, led by sales of US government debt securities.
Wholesale trade, May 2023
Wholesale sales (excluding petroleum, petroleum products, and other hydrocarbons and excluding oilseed and grain) rose 3.5% to $83.6 billion in May. The growth in sales was led by the machinery, equipment and supplies, the miscellaneous, and the motor vehicle and motor vehicle parts and accessories subsectors.
New motor vehicle sales, May 2023
New motor vehicle sales data for Canada and the provinces are now available for May. The New Motor Vehicle Sales Survey collects data on monthly sales (in dollars and units) of new motor vehicles in Canada by type of vehicle and by country or region of manufacture.

Over the last year, Statistics Canada and Infrastructure Canada collaborated on the creation of a set of spatial measures of access to services and amenities using active and public modes of transportation.
