Railway carloadings, June 2024
Canadian railways carried 30.2 million tonnes of freight in June, up 4.9% from June 2023. Higher shipments of iron ores, canola, potash and other cereal grains were the main contributors to this third straight month of year-over-year growth.

Study: Flash estimates of selected services industries, 2023
Today, Statistics Canada is publishing a new study entitled “Shifting Economic Conditions Impact Service Industries in 2023.” According to this study, service industries are navigating through volatility and adjusting to fundamental economic changes. Most service industries saw slower revenue growth in 2023 compared with 2022. Nonetheless, compared with pre-COVID-19 pandemic years, revenue in service industries continued showing significant expansion.
