Gross domestic product, income and expenditure, second quarter 2016
Real gross domestic product (GDP) decreased 0.4% in the second quarter, after increasing 0.6% in the first quarter. This was the largest decline in quarterly GDP since the second quarter of 2009.
Gross domestic product by industry, June 2016
Real gross domestic product rose 0.6% in June, essentially offsetting an equivalent decline in May. Mining, quarrying and oil and gas extraction, manufacturing and utilities were the major contributors to the increase.

Food services and drinking places, June 2016
Total sales in the food services and drinking places subsector rose 0.7% in June to $5.4 billion. Prices for food purchased at restaurants increased 2.6% from the same month last year.

Railway carloadings, June 2016
The volume of rail freight carried in Canada totalled 27.8 million tonnes in June, down 7.5% from the same month last year. From June 2011 to June 2016, the total volume of rail freight carried in Canada increased by 9.2%.
Monthly civil aviation statistics, June 2016
The six Canadian Level I air carriers flew 5.9 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in June, up 5.9% from June 2015.
Aircraft movement statistics: Major airports, June 2016
In June, there were 505,884 aircraft take-offs and landings at the 91 Canadian airports with NAV CANADA air traffic control towers and flight service stations, compared with 523,061 movements in June 2015.

The Couriers and Messengers Services Price Index (CMSPI) rose 0.8% in July. Both the couriers (+1.0%) and the local messengers and local delivery (+0.1%) components increased.
