Canadian international merchandise trade, February 2022
In February, Canada’s merchandise imports were up 3.9%, following a 7.5% decline in January. Meanwhile, exports rose 2.8% in February. As a result, Canada’s merchandise trade surplus with the world narrowed from $3.1 billion in January to $2.7 billion in February.

Canadian international trade in services, February 2022
Canada’s monthly international trade in services deficit narrowed from $628 million in January to $317 million in February. Overall, exports of services increased 2.8% to $11.6 billion, while imports edged up 0.1% to $11.9 billion.

Multifactor productivity, measured as output per unit of combined labour and capital inputs, increased 0.5% in the Canadian business sector in 2020. The growth in 2020 reflected a 6.5% decrease in output, and a 7.0% decline in the combined inputs of capital and labour.
Commercial rents in key Canadian economic markets, analytical supplement for the fourth quarter of 2021
Commercial rents rose 0.8% in the fourth quarter of 2021, following an identical increase (+0.8%) in the third quarter. The increase was shared among all three building types, led by higher rents for industrial buildings and warehouses (+1.0%), followed by retail buildings (+0.9%) and office buildings (+0.5%).
