Confidence in institutions and the media, 2023
Public confidence in institutions can encourage political participation, strengthen bonds between citizens and help people and communities become more resilient in the face of challenges. New data from the most recent cycle of the Canadian Social Survey sheds light on the link between confidence in institutions, trust in media and well-being.
Canadian business counts, December 2023
In December, there were 1.35 million employer businesses in Canada and 3.24 million non-employer businesses with annual revenues greater than $30,000.
Chicken production, 2023
Chicken production totalled 1.4 million tonnes in 2023, up 3.4% from the previous year. More than 60% of the chicken produced in Canada came from Ontario (477 451 tonnes) and Quebec (369 422 tonnes).
