Study: Skill requirements of jobs of postsecondary graduates
Jobs held by graduates of architecture and engineering programs in 2011 required the highest skill levels among male and female bachelor’s degree holders from different academic programs. A new study also found that jobs held by graduates of education, visual and performing arts, and humanities programs generally required lower level skills than other bachelor’s degree graduates.
Annual wholesale trade, 2015
The operating revenue of Canadian wholesalers declined 6.6% in 2015, falling below the $1.0 trillion mark reached in 2014.
Architectural services, 2015
Architectural and landscape architectural services industries earned a combined operating revenue of $3.8 billion in 2015, up 2.5% from 2014. The operating expenses of these two industries increased 4.1% to $3.2 billion in 2015. This resulted in an operating profit margin of 15.3%, down from 16.6% in 2014.
Accounting services, 2015
The accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping and payroll services industry generated $18.3 billion in operating revenue in 2015, up 6.9% from the previous year. Operating expenses rose 7.2% to yield a profit margin of 27.6%, down slightly from 27.8% in 2014.
Large urban transit, November 2016
Total operating revenues (excluding subsidies) for 10 of Canada’s largest urban transit systems rose 2.5% year over year to $302.3 million in November.
