Study: Skill requirements of jobs of postsecondary graduates

Jobs held by graduates of architecture and engineering programs in 2011 required the highest skill levels among male and female bachelor’s degree holders from different academic programs. A new study also found that jobs held by graduates of education, visual and performing arts, and humanities programs generally required lower level skills than other bachelor’s degree graduates.

Architectural services, 2015

Architectural and landscape architectural services industries earned a combined operating revenue of $3.8 billion in 2015, up 2.5% from 2014. The operating expenses of these two industries increased 4.1% to $3.2 billion in 2015. This resulted in an operating profit margin of 15.3%, down from 16.6% in 2014.

The accounting, tax preparation, bookkeeping and payroll services industry generated $18.3 billion in operating revenue in 2015, up 6.9% from the previous year. Operating expenses rose 7.2% to yield a profit margin of 27.6%, down slightly from 27.8% in 2014.
