Government spending by function, 2022
Spending by all levels of government in Canada, excluding consumption of fixed capital, totalled $962.7 billion in 2022, a decline of 0.7% or $7.1 billion from 2021.
Farm income, 2022 (revised data)
Realized net income for Canadian farmers fell 7.6% to $11.8 billion in 2022, as growth in expenses outpaced the rise in farm cash receipts. The decrease in 2022 followed a 69.6% gain in 2021 and a 101.6% increase in 2020. Excluding cannabis, realized net income in 2022 was down 5.9% to $11.8 billion.
Farm cash receipts, January to September, 2023
Farm cash receipts for Canadian farmers totalled $72.5 billion over the first three quarters of 2023, up 7.9% (+$5.3 billion) from the same period in 2022, as receipts for crops and livestock rose, while program payments fell.

Major Canadian airlines carried 6.7 million passengers on scheduled and charter services in September, up 12.1% from the same month in 2022.
Canadian Health Measures Survey: Vitamin D status of Canadians, 2007 to 2019
The Canadian Health Measures Survey is releasing today a new table presenting the vitamin D status of Canadians aged 3 to 79. This table provides the prevalence of vitamin D deficiency, inadequacy, and sufficiency, by age group and sex for the period from 2007 to 2019.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, October 2023
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.1 billion cigarettes in October 2023, down 3.4% from September 2023. Cigarette production was 3.1% higher compared with October 2022.
Open Database of Businesses
The Open Database of Businesses is now available as part of Statistics Canada’s Linkable Open Data Environment (LODE) initiative. The LODE aims to enhance the use, accessibility and harmonization of open microdata from authoritative sources, such as municipal and higher levels of government and professional associations. It also supports the collaboration on open data and their use for the production of official statistics and for geospatial research.
