Retail Commodity Survey, October 2024
Retail sales reached $70.7 billion in October, an increase of 4.5% compared with the same month one year earlier. Higher sales were reported in 14 of the 18 commodity classes.

Canada’s energy sector continued to see increased demand for energy products in 2023. Ongoing and emerging geopolitical conflicts in Eastern Europe and the Middle East continued to impact production, consumption, and prices of refined petroleum products.

Poultry and egg statistics, December 2024
Data on stocks of frozen eggs and poultry meats, as well as edible dried egg products, are now available for December 2024. Data on the placements of hatchery chicks and turkey poults are available for November 2024, and data on egg production are available for October 2024.
Production and disposition of tobacco products, November 2024
Canadian manufacturers produced 1.3 billion cigarettes in November 2024, up 6.4% from October 2024. Cigarette production was 4.5% higher compared with November 2023.
