In the first quarter of 2025, Vancouver was the census metropolitan area with the highest asking rent for a two-bedroom apartment, at $3,170 on average, followed by Toronto ($2,690).

Early estimates of the potential economic disruption from the 2025 wildfire season
In recent years, the summer months have unfortunately become synonymous with wildfire season in Canada. As of June 18, 2025, there have been 2,061 wildfires since the beginning of the year, covering an area of 3.88 million hectares, which is more than quadruple the 10-year average of 930,000 hectares.
Mushroom Growers’ Survey, 2024
Canadian mushroom growers sold 163,769 short tons of mushrooms in 2024, up 4.6% compared with 2023 and the ninth consecutive annual increase. The total value of mushroom sales rose by 4.8% to $749.5 million in 2024. This increase was attributable to a rise in total production, along with higher average prices reported for both fresh and processed mushrooms.
Postsecondary students in Canada, by Indigenous identity and racialized group, 2014 to 2022
Today, Statistics Canada is releasing data on students from Canadian colleges and universities (cohorts of 2014 to 2022) by Indigenous identity and racialized group. This release includes information on the number of Canadian new students, enrolled students and graduates by Indigenous identity and racialized group, educational qualification, field of study, age group and gender. Data are available at the national, provincial and territorial levels.
