Canada’s international transactions in securities, July 2024
Foreign investors increased their exposure to Canadian securities by $11.0 billion in July. Meanwhile, Canadian acquisitions of foreign securities slowed to $4.5 billion, down from a $16.4 billion investment in June.
Investment in building construction, July 2024
Investment in building construction decreased 1.7% to $20.9 billion in July, following increases in May (+0.7%) and June (+2.7%). Year over year, investment in building construction rose 7.0% in July.

In 2018, nearly one-third of individuals in Canada (32.3%) experienced only non-physical types of maltreatment, and nearly one-quarter (23.3%) experienced both physical and non-physical maltreatment in childhood. While research has found that physical and sexual childhood abuse are associated with experiencing suicidal ideation and mental health disorders, less is known about the relationships between non-physical types of childhood maltreatment (e.g., emotional abuse, interpersonal aggression, exposure to physical intimate partner violence (IPV), emotional neglect, physical neglect), and suicidal ideation and mental health disorders.

Data from the Physical flow account for greenhouse gas emissions for industries and households are now available upon request by gas type for reference years 2009 to 2021. Gas types included are carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O), in CO2 equivalents.
