Many if not all business ventures that require proper funding usually within a specific community, usually require an in-depth understanding of the prevailing cultures. This in a great way is advocated to avoid cultural friction which may not augur well for a business intended for making a profit. The business initiated within an area or community can be in terms of financing indigenous businesses among other various ventures.
The First Nations term refers to the various Aboriginal or indigenous Canadians who are neither Inuit nor Metis. The coining of the First Nation term among some quarters has been credited to the fact that some Canadians considered the word “Indian” utterly offensive. Indian was in common use erstwhile to the use of First Nation in reference to this particular group.
