Press Release
Thunder Bay, June 24, 2016 – The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce has been selected to host its 2018 Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Convention, which will be held from Sept. 22 to 24 at the Valhalla Inn.
“This is a very exciting opportunity for our community and region to showcase itself on the national stage,” says Charla Robinson, President of the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce. “The event will bring up to 400 delegates from across Canada to Thunder Bay for three days in September 2018 and will be the first time that any Northern Ontario community has hosted this annual conference. We will be working closely with member hotels, restaurants and tourism stakeholders to develop an exceptional and memorable experience for our delegates.”
“The Canadian Chamber of Commerce is excited to hold its annual general meeting and policy convention in Thunder Bay, a community that deeply understands the importance of sustainable natural resource development for the Canadian economy,” says Perrin Beatty, President and CEO of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce. “It will be an excellent opportunity for the Canadian chamber network to discover this resource city and gain a better appreciation of the infrastructure, policies and programs that are needed to sustain Canada’s competitiveness in natural resources. We are also proud to partner with the Thunder Bay Chamber of Commerce on this event. Named one of Canada’s resource champions and an active member within the chamber network, the Thunder Bay Chamber will do a great job to showcase the best the city has to offer.”
The Canadian Chamber’s AGM and Convention is the chamber network’s must-attend event of the year. It is where member chambers of commerce get plugged into the latest developments, trends and issues that are important to the Canadian business community and develop solutions to break down the barriers that are holding Canadian businesses back, setting the Canadian Chamber’s policy agenda for the upcoming year.
