Press Release
October 11, 2024
The Town of Ajax is seeking applications to join the Ajax Anti-Racism Task Force (AARTF) for the remainder of the 2022-2026 term. Despite previous outreach, the Task Force did not see a significant uptake in applications from Indigenous, Jewish, and 2SLGBTQIA+ community members, and we are eager to better reflect these voices moving forward. We strongly encourage individuals from these communities to apply and help us shape a more inclusive future for Ajax.
Until Friday, October 25, 2024 at 4 p.m., applicants can fill out the online application form and explain why they are interested in the Anti-Racism Task Force and how their personal and professional experiences align with the purpose of the Task Force. The Task Force is currently comprised of eight community members and has up to three vacant seats available. To qualify, applicants must meet the below criteria:
The Task Force works to create a more inclusive and equitable community, while actively address systemic racism and discrimination and ensuring that all community members have equal opportunities and access to resources.
