The top 10 finalists in the 2014 Saskatchewan Business Challenge (SkBC) feature everything from cookbooks for kids to agricultural products to smartphone apps.
Last weekend in Regina and Saskatoon, the top 21 participants attended a workshop culminating in a threeminute pitch to the judges. The 10 finalists will now participate in an Entrepreneur Boot Camp – an allday business startup workshop focusing on human resources, marketing, financial planning and management, business startup information and legal aspects of running a business.
The 10 finalists will continue to work one-on-one with industry mentors to refine their business plan, which will be submitted for technical review at the end of May when they give their final presentation with $50,000 in prizes on the line. The winner will be announced on June 26 in Saskatoon.
The business challenge is presented by the Ministry of the Economy, Regina Regional Opportunities Commission (RROC), and Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority (SREDA).
