A day after the four Liberal hopefuls angling to replace him as both party leader and prime minister put forward their respective plans to respond to U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to impose sweeping tariffs on virtually all Canadian and Mexican exports, Justin Trudeau will go over the latest developments in the ongoing cross-border standoff during his weekly virtual huddle with provincial and territorial premiers, and chair what will likely be one of his final formal meetings with his front bench team.

Later this morning, the two-week voting period to choose his successor will officially get underway, with the online polling system set to open at 8 a.m. ET.
