Yukon minimum wage to increase on April 1, 2025

The Yukon’s minimum wage will increase from $17.59 to $17.94 per hour, effective April 1, 2025. This adjustment reflects a 2.0 per cent rise based on Whitehorse’s 2024 Consumer Price Index, ensuring wages keep pace with inflation.

The increase aims to help workers better afford everyday necessities while supporting businesses in attracting and retaining skilled employees in a competitive job market.

By adjusting the minimum wage annually to reflect inflation, the Government of Yukon demonstrates its commitment to supporting workers and fostering a resilient economy.

Ensuring the minimum wage keeps pace with inflation is one way of keeping life affordable for Yukoners. This minimum wage increase, linked to the annual rise in the Yukon’s consumer price index, will better help Yukoners make ends meet.

• The Government of Canada federal minimum wage is currently $17.30 per hour.
