The Canadian Transportation Agency released its 2015-2016 Annual Report today. The report summarizes activities on each of the Agency’s three core mandate areas:
In each Annual Report, the Agency also assesses the operation of the Canada Transportation Act and any difficulties encountered in administering it. This year, the Agency identified five specific steps that would help it deliver its responsibilities effectively and efficiently.
The report also contains annual air travel complaint statistics. The number of new air travel complaints received for facilitation – 826 – has more than doubled since 2010–2011, when the Agency received 343 new air travel complaints. The top issues raised were flight disruption, baggage-related matters (lost, damaged or delayed) and quality of service.
